Skipper is using Pride & Joy, draft horses belonging to Roger and Judy Nickerson in his demonstrations. Skipper is coaching Roger on how to teach Pride & Joy on how to lower their heads to pressure. Skipper is introducing the leaf blower to Joy, trying to desensitize him to noisy objects.
Denise Waldron was experiencing some difficulty with her 10 year old gelding horse, Tank. If she did not circle him in a round pen before she tried to saddle him, he would buck her off. She asked Skipper to help train Tank not to buck when he was saddled. As you can see in the picture to the right, Tank is very rebellious and at 10 years old, he should know better. Below, you can see that Skipper was able to work through the rebellion and begin to safely mount Tank.
Skipper worked with Tank for 3 weeks. He would work well in a lot by himself, but would continue to be aggressive with other horses. Tank had been left a stud for 9 years and appeared he had never been completely cut. Skipper advised Denise that this horse was not safe for her and she either get rid of him or get him cut again.
Skipper is introducing Tank to Cheyenne, a paint horse owned by Christine Archer and ridden by Jess Calder. Cheyenne is a mare, and Skipper was training Tank to control his aggressive behavior. Skipper allows Tank to be inquisitive to Cheyenne, but not be aggressive towards her. He allows the horses to smell each other, then he moves Tank away from the mare to control his mind and bring his attention back to the rider.
